On the contrary, Egypt has been the centre of interest for many centuries. This interest is attributable to the pharaohs and the rich and mysterious legacy they have left behind. That alone was enough to influence intrigued and fascinated people to learn Egyptian Arabic.

Ancient Egypt has had an immense impact on western countries in particular. It’s quite understandable given the impact it’s had on history, art, literature and architecture.

Even though Arabic was not the spoken language of the pharaohs, nevertheless many historians, scientists and anatomist opted to learn Egyptian Arabic because they were planning on spending a lot of time in Egypt.

Egyptomania is a term used to describe this increasing fascination in Egyptian history. We see examples of this all around us from art to architecture (Obelisk in Washington), TV to film (The Mummy), and even things like clothing and jewelry inspired by figures like Cleopatra that become fashion trends every now and then.

If you, like many others, are interested in Egypt’s rich history and are thinking of studying it in depth. Or even if you’ve simply taken an interest in the phenomena that is egyptomania and you’re thinking of visiting Egypt to learn more about it and to witness evidence of the pharaohs’ existence, then I suggest you learn Egyptian Arabic like I did and I used this website because it’s the best I have ever come across after doing a lot of research.

Even if you only stick to the basics like learning a few words and important phrases, the locals in Egypt will definitely show you more respect and appreciation if you make some effort to learn their native tongue language.  Things will be made a lot easier for you if you can speak some Egyptian Arabic especially when taking into consideration the fact that many people in Egypt don’t actually speak English.
